Hello, I'm Lior

Hi, I'm Lior Schwartz. I am currently a student at Rockland Community College, where I am pursuing an Associate of Arts in Humanities & Social Sciences with honors. I have a passion for social causes and advocacy. I have had the opportunity to work in various leadership roles and internships, including co-founding a nonprofit to address educational inequalities, serving as a community and constituent relations intern for RAZOM for Ukraine, and working as a field organizer for Josh Lafazan for Congress.

My Story

Growing up in Roslyn, New York, I was surrounded by individuals who were driven to succeed and make a difference in their communities. This spirit of ambition was instilled in me at a young age and has driven me to pursue higher education and become actively involved in leadership and community service opportunities.

My brother, who attended Rockland Community College before transferring to Cornell University, followed by Medical School, and now becoming a Dermatology Resident, was one of my biggest inspirations. Additionally, my sister-in-law, who also attended Rockland Community College before transferring to NYU Nursing and now becoming a Nurse Practioner, showed me the value of obtaining an education close to home before pursuing more advanced degrees. These experiences solidified my belief in the quality of education provided by Rockland Community College and inspired me to follow in their footsteps by enrolling at RCC.

Since then, I have taken full advantage of the opportunities available, including co-founding a nonprofit to address educational inequalities, serving as a community and constituent relations intern for RAZOM for Ukraine, and working as a field organizer for Josh Lafazan for Congress. In addition, I am an active member of various organizations on campus, including the Sam Drapers Honors Program, RCC Student Government Association, Honors Newsletter, and Outlook Student Press. Furthermore, I am the President of Entrepreneurship Club, Vice President of Economics & Investments Club, and Treasurer of Chemistry Club.

As I continue to pursue my education and seek new experiences, I am grateful for the examples set by my brother and sister-in-law, who have shown me the power of obtaining a quality education close to home. I am confident that the opportunities available at RCC will enable me to achieve my goals and positively impact my community.
